Hospital Visitors

Macky was officially admitted to the hospital last January 29, 2012; 11:45 PM. I am just so thankful that God gave us the strength and wisdom to bring him to the hospital right that moment.

Upon admission, the doctor in the emergency room checked Macky and initially told us that he has high fever. His initial laboratory results showed that his platelet was normal at 159. Doc Grace, Macky's doctor has ordered a platelet and hematocrit test for Macky every six hours to monitor his status thoroughly. The series of tests has indeed proved that Macky has dengue fever as his platelet count lowers in every test. We were told that there is no medicine for dengue fever the most important thing that should be done is to hydrate Macky and make sure that he drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration.

This hospitalization is actually his first. We are just thankful that after nine days of being in the hospital, he was able to survive dengue fever. One of the things that Macky and the rest of us appreciated so much was the untiring presence of his friends and classmates who visited him in the hospital since day 1.

Thank you very much friends and classmates for spending your time to visit Macky in the hospital. You surely made him feel loved and special during his hospital stay. Thank you also to Macky's adviser Sir Jade for visiting Macky in the hospital and for being so thoughtful. To all of you, thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.

  4. glad he is all well now Rovs, did not know there is no medicine for dengue fever but the condition can be reversed by hydrating, now, it makes me think if there is dengue fever here too but usually just termed as "dehydration sickness".

  8. Dengue is scary as not a few have succumbed to it. Macky is lucky to have sweet caring you who had him checked at once. Indeed it helped too that he has friends who cheered him throughout his hospital stay. He must be a very good boy to have so many friends. May your family be always blessed with good health sis! 10. HOpe he's doing better now! How nice of them to have thought of paying him a visit! =)
